The Hill shade is Solid White 20, so I will try those effects out - thanks heap, Sue - that is the sort of comment i am looking for.

I am inspired to draw upon real earth battles to illustrate battles in my imaginary world history, using this style. Thank you for posting it.

I have revised the pantheon. I have brought it into line with the 18 universal gods of my world, and transmogrified their names into Slavic sounding ones.

I have also done AI images of all the 18 deities, and used them in this revision, rather than someone else's artwork. (though I know AI often uses other people's artwork to create the images - at least the app I use does get artwork from public and free sourrces before altering it)

I just like to fill in the unmapped little spaces that otherwise would miss out, and it gives me a chance to use a style I otherwise would not use. i use Mike Schley as the main basis for my own fantasy world.

I am really looking forward to your map. You can start on it now - it has not been taken, and Remy won't mind if you start now.

I use Ralf's method mainly, but if the map is not too cluttered, i do use the drawing over an image - which is what I did with this map.

Use the symbols, rather than the dots, IMO.

That was perfect @Loopysue . I have now got all my structures sorted (as well as the main structures one with everything in it, and sorted to my satisfaction). Needless to say, I have saved all these in another folder as well, so if I have to reload all CC3+, I will have these catalogues available. I now have Mike Schley template etc working just as I like it.
