Alien Style - But Yellow CRT

I am gearing up for a scifi game and needed to make ship for the group. I quickly settled on "boxy" looking firefly - good old regional tramp freighter in space. The setting is Deadlands Lost Colony - while futuristic, it does have a Firefly feel with horror elements, but its not faster than light (there is something called a gravity drive that makes travel to in-system planets in days instead of months).

I started with main cosmologer, but I kind bogged down. But the breakthrough was watching Alien Romulus. Ok movie, but it really hit the gritty, practical tech feel of the original Alien movie. This setting is the same - as per the name, its a system that is lost to Earth. Since its cut off, there is not a ton of fancy new tech - its used, reused, refurbished, and recycled. This is what was bogging me down - the main scifi symbols are just too clean and futuristic.

So I went with the Alien annual style - clean, simple, and it evokes the visuals of the setting. Going abstract should help convey the look and feel of the setting. But, I did not want it to evoke Alien completely - yes there is horror, but this first campaign in the setting is more Firefly - show off the setting with episodes.

Since Alien is green CRT, I modified the style to be a yellow CRT look. This fits nicely with the art in the books. It a "wild west in space" and much of the planetary art has browns and yellows, as does the cover of the book. I may also do a blue version for one group that does have more shiny advanced tech that it fiercely protects.

So here is a ship "to be named" by the players. Top level is deck 3, with deck 2 and deck 1 being an upper and lower cargo bay.
