The Cartographer's Vault Humble Bundle

If you are interested in a very large pack of ready made maps, all with high resolution images if you don't own CC3, and many with the original CC3 drawing files for those who do. There's just 22 hours left (at the time of posting this message) on The Cartographer's Vault Humble Bundle

This is a wonderful deal. Thanks for mentioning it!
Did you make any of the maps loopysue?
Not this time, Julian, but there are some really beautiful maps by Alyssa Faden in there among others.
It's a mixture of CC3 and non-CC3 maps. Most or all of the CC3 maps have the FCW with them.
Just in case anyone is reading this thread now (after the presumed deadline mentioned above), the bundle has been extended for another 6 days, so if you wanted it it's still there at the moment of writing this comment.
But if i open one map only appears X cross :S and i have a question, why i hace City Designer Menu ?? Is a trial for that addon ??
Hello TakoTsubo :)
The maps cover a huge range of styles. Red X's are where you don't have the symbols for the map. They are placeholders. This is why there is also a high resolution bitmap export of all the CC3+ maps, so that people who see red Xs can still have and use the maps even if they don't have all the styles.
The City and Dungeon menus and tools were added to the core app a couple of years ago along with a city style and a dungeon style to make it possible for people to draw basic cities and dungeons even if they don't have CD3 or DD3. So those are normal for CC3 these days.
So, I have a number of maps that have the red X's. How can I figure out what symbol set I am missing? I have used the symbol manager to look for missing symbols and many are CA 134 and then if I use the symbol Manager it gives me a path for "Annual Dungeon Walls" how do I figure out which annual to purchase for these symbols?
Annual No 12. (134/12 = 11 with 2 left over, ie 2nd issue of Annual 12).
CA132 is the February issue of the 2018 annual, called "Dungeon Walls". Does this look like the style you have things missing in?
EDIT: Oh, sorry! I couldn't see Quenten's answer when I did this one, even though it was hours before.
Quenten, thank you for the explanation of these annual symbols. I have discovered some more and now I know how to figure out which annual is needed.
Thank you Loopysue.
The styles of the maps Alyssa made are from some Annual ?? I love them so so much
Alyssa's maps are hand drawn, though we do have an annual style called Alyssa Faden Overland that was created several years ago in this annual. https://www.profantasy.com/annual/2014/november14.html
Oohh i would love a City addon of alyssa her maps are amazing
One of my ongoing personal projects is to create a template which approximates the same feel as Alyssa Faden's amazing city maps. I've been using fractalised polys for buildings and macro'ing multiple layered textures to try and capture her amazing colourisation for city blocks. I've had some limited success, but I've a long way to go before it's anything that resembles an actual 'template'.
Hi, everyone! I missed the Cartographer's Vault bundle, and recently saw the new Map Making Mega bundle. I was very interested in the Magnificent Metropolises 1 & 2 from the Vault bundle. I wanted to ask if those maps (or its elements) are available in any of the annuals, or were exclusive to that bundle? Thank you!
What are these magnificant Metropolis'. I have never seen or heard these mentioned.
The current bundle has almost everything included. Notably missing are the last two annuals, but little else.
I listed everything included in this post: https://forum.profantasy.com/discussion/comment/124188/#Comment_124188
Huh. Hadn’t even bothered to ask myself that, but I think the current bundle doesn’t include these.
I browsed my Humble Bundle account and found these:
I don’t think I’ve seen them in any of the annuals or addons. And apparently I didn’t pledge on the highest tier for the Cartographer’s Vault Bundle.
I just picked this up, and the help file had a ton of ActiveX errors I guess? On Windows 11. Is there availability of a Windows 11 version of the help file?
@camilodiezr The Cartographer's Vault bundle contained some lovely maps drawn by a range of fantasy artists (including Alyssa Fadden), either in other apps or by traditional means. Those maps are not included in the current bundle.
@ZigZaw The help files are sadly not in good condition, but the User Manual has all the basic information in it. You also have the Tome of Ultimate Mapping in that bundle which contains nearly everything there is to know. I recommend using that only as a reference manual, though, since I don't believe anyone has ever managed to 'work through' it's 750+ pages.
I don't even see that stuff at Profantasy.
