This is what I have so far:

Greets, fellow Artists
As you can see, I'm making heavy use of 'Mirrored Copies' heh. Also, Color Key is coming into play (I love this effect).
The original artwork calls for towers in unusual places for a cathedra, but this is a fantasy realm! We must stretch the limits of our imaginations.
And, as you can see, I just put in those towers and am going to work on the stairs, etc. Also, this project calls for a crypt beneath--so, will be heading into that territory soon. It's been fun, so far.
Thanks for the suggestion, Quenten

Great beginning. And the city is Torstan, not Trustan ๐ง
I need two monocles, sir, obviously ๐
thanks!
Cal
Well,
This is what I have so far. I must admit, interior design is not my forte, though it's supposed to be heh. I'll take any an all suggestions coz I'm a fish out of water here. Our symbol catalogs are skimpy (as far as I know) for cathedric decor ๐
Help! heh
PS: sure is a very small cathedra, Quenten heh
Maybe a few tombs in the floor at the back and up the central aisle might be appropriate - if this is done in any country other than the UK. All the cathedral floors I've ever walked over have been more tombstone than plain stone slab. Many of them have inlaid decorations or epitaphs.
Other things you could add are floral displays (we have a lot of those in English cathedrals), and even display cases for precious relics. Large-framed paintings and tapestries are another idea.
Some of thse symbols are available in the PF assets, but others might be found among the free Vintyri third party assets.
Thanks, Sue
Not sure this post is a good place to mention this, but I noticed something really irritating:
Using MOVE on various walls would result in the entity vanishing to the faint outlines so I couldn't see what I was moving nor where I was moving it to. I tried redraw, turning off effects and even clearing the cache and a relaunch of the program. Can this be dealt with in the new version, I hope?
On your suggestions: man, space is limited. This building is very small. But I'll see what I can do.
Cal
Yikes! Unless Quenten drew it meters...I wonder.
You do realize that the scale is in metres, ie it is 60 metres long, ~ 180 feet.
I was starting to wonder that!
Hmmmmmmmm
Well, well. Now Ralf said converting to metric would be rather simple heh.
Help!
๐
That thing with lines and polygons turning mostly invisible during a move is standard behaviour. Things are a little better with bitmap symbols.
Weird, I never noticed that before this map. Oh well.
thanks

So this would be a good opportunity to explore and discover what there is - which is actually quite a bit. The basic DD3 catalogues have a lectern, a pulpit, pews, curtains/hangings, stained glass windows, braziers, candelabra, statues, tomb cases, altars, fancy pillars, and numerous smaller items, just as a few examples I can recall off-hand. Plus there are plenty of other features that can be repurposed, sometimes after rescaling symbols, for instance. Just depends what you think to be most appropriate in this building.
It would be nice to be able to tag symbol definitions (and other things like draw tools with metadata and be able to search across the list of files for that information.
@DaltonSpence It's a /CATHEDRA/ not a cathedral. ๐
@Wyvern Of course, I looked at those. It was the first style I looked at. I dislike the cartoony look of that style and some, in fact, are vector drawings. Thanks for the suggestions, though.
@jslayton Not sure if that is directed at me?

@DaltonSpence
I'm going to respond to your suggestions with this:
I received a request from the original artist to interpret a floorplan based on his original artwork.
Honestly, the only mistake I made was failing to realize he used metric and not imperial measurement. There was no scale on the original drawing and I, foolishly, started a new FCW in imperial measure, thus skewing my understanding of the measurements. Apparently, all I need do is place a scale in metrics to fix. I'll do that. All other commentary/criticism--since it appears to be less than constructive which I don't tolerate--should be directed to the original artist.
It's for these kinds of commentaries that I usually refuse to participate in the community projects online (though moreso on other sites than here) since I became aware of it. I'm breaking my rule for Quenten as he has gone out of his way to assist me on my own projects.
thanks
Cal
It was just a general comment on the difficulty of finding things in the great mass of content that is Campaign Cartographer.
Ahh. Yes, it's difficult at times, though Remy makes it look like child's play ๐
Cal
For those criticizing the layout, Cal is right when he says the comments about the floor plan, towers etc should be aimed at me. And I will probably answer with a 'Oh well, them's the breaks" โบ๏ธ
Not all the towers are bell towers - perhaps some are like hermitages, or storage of special stuff, or just useless decoration (please show me one Catholic cathedral in Europe which does not have functionless decorative spires etc).
The central tower is certainly a bell tower.
Sorry I didn't put the scale on the map I gave you Cal, me bad.
No biggie! All will be well! ๐
Cal
Something else I've noticed: (and here, I'd appreciate feedback heh)
After using TRACED on some of my wall entities, I cannot use BREAK on them. I used TRACED on them in order to spread the bitmap fill across the entity as SEND BEHIND and BRING FORWARD didn't eliminate the hard lines between the patterns. I usually draw these wall entities separately, not as a single form so I can manipulate them more easily.
Anyone have a solution for that? Yes, of course, redrawing them is on the table ๐
Cal
Also, here's the floorplan I am working from:
TRACED draws around the outside of the entity being traced, which means the walls will have become polygons rather than lines.
No worries! All good here.
Hmm, really, I think I just googled cathedra floorplans and it popped up.
Cal
Excellent, sir.
I suspect you'll do awesomely with it.
Cal
Ok, update:
Still working on this. Following Remy's instructions, map has been converted to metric. Probably going to breakdown and use the DD3 color symbols ๐. Don't get me wrong, they are nicely done, just wanted less of a cartoony look for this project. Going to tackle the exterior next.
Cal
@DaltonSpence Hey man! Thanks for the advice. I didn't realize there was an addon for exactly what I'm looking for!
thanks indeed
Cal
@Calibre I think there are less 'cartoony.\, symbols in the furniture section of the CSUAC-Dundjinni collections, if you have them. They are also 'allowed' for the Atlas.
I love the look of what you are doing. And, as I am using this city, and all buildings in it, as the capital city of the country I am detailing, it is quite exciting to see someone else add to its creation and lore.
The cathedral is now in the atlas. Thanks for the contribution.
