Export - wierd artifacts
Hi all!
I hope you all are well!
I have a strange behaviour when exporting a map of mine using combination of CoS and SS4 lighted. A weird artifact shows on background layer, and that occurs on screen depending on the zoom, too.
I have found some related questions in the forum but can't find a solution and I'm out of keywords....
I export at 6000, 8000 and 10000x10000, but artifacts appear (even if at various level of disagrement).
Thanks for advices!
Paul

I think that's pretty much par for the course with the Bevel effect. I don't understand the technical reasoning for it, but I can identify it straight away. A very useful effect in certain circumstances, but not necessarily when used on a highly irregular shape.
Have you considered trying the "Bevel, Lighted" effect instead?
If the top edge line you get with that version of it is undesirable you can smooth the bevel until it disappears, but some people like the step it creates.
First, I prefer that effect (now I know it )
But, it did not saved me.
Here are two images : the first is from CC3+, the second once exported at 6000. Do you think it is about too much points in the smothed poly? I'll try to lower it...
Paul
I noticed that changing the "smooth" parameter (from 2 to 3), the artefact appear to a higher zoom (more zoomed). And depending on the zoom, the effect is different... Funny to look at (but sad to see on the exported map )
I guess I'll find a consistent-non-buggy setting then remove the effect...
Thanks for the explaination (even if I'm not sure to get it )
Errr. Not sure to understand the "on a sheet between the sheets" and what poly you talk about.
Tell me if 'im wrong: I got my cheesy poly on "background Hill" and the background poly on the "background" sheet. Thus, I would place a pink copy of the hill on a sheet "Background InBetween" placed between BACKGROUND and BACKGROUND HILL" ?
In the case there is a glow/fade edge effect applied, the pink stuff would appear, wound'nt it?
I found the same issue with SS4 grass that have a fade edge effect and I'm affraid of ruining all ^_^
Paul
I'll try this with my cave. I'll try to image a fix for the grass later (like instead of pink, use the same background fill-in.

Paul
You might still need to increase the width of the fade on the background in between sheet, but try it and see.
Many thanks to you both!
It worked!
Thanks, Remy!
