How to fill in shapes drawn with pen tool

Is there a way to fill in an outline with solid color in Dungeon Designer?
I'm drawing a ravine and would like to fill in the bottom with solid black by manually drawing an outline and then filling it - like you would with the Windows Paint program by clicking on the "paint bucket" button.

I frequently use the freehand tool to draw a shape, then right click the fractalize button and pick Path to Polygon, at which point it takes on the currently selected fill. Only if the fill is set to hollow does it stay hollow.
Personal experince.
It looks like Change Properties can only fill shapes that were drawn with the Polygon or FractalPoly functions. Or like you said, if I freehand sketch or draw a closed path I need to convert to a polygon or the fill function doesn't work.
A line has a fill as well.
If you draw a line of a significant width you can change it's fill just like you can with a polygon. It can have a colour or texture.
Filled lines are used a lot as walls in dungeon maps.
