Per3: Negative Space / Holes in walls
Is there a standard method for building walls with actual gaps in them (so that whatever is behind the hole shows through? I'm thinking a ship's porthole or an irregularly shaped window like a gothic arch.
I've worked through the essentials guide and scoured this site and teh webz for tutorials, just for good measure. With regularly shaped rectangular or square holes, there are some easy work-arounds - not looking for that.
Thanks!

I had seen that post and was curious. I'm actually interested more in the arched windows than the roof cutouts, if there is any info on those. I replied on that thread.
