Is there a tutorial that goes from fractal terrains 3 (with linked maps), to CC3 (with Linked maps), to CD3 (with Linked maps), also is there a way to see the continents in fractal terrains
He has 4 tutorials - 1 on mapping projections, 1 on exporting multiple maps at different levels, and 1 on customizing an exported map, as well as a basic FT tutorial.
If I were going to write that tutorial today, I would recommend using "RMF with Perlin's Improved Noise" as the fractal function and "Textured Climate" rather than "Image Climate". They weren't available when I wrote that tutorial so many years ago.
It's not too far out of date, it's just that there are newer toys that will do a nicer job. I need to get in there and revamp the tutorial for new stuff one of these years.
Hi, I am looking for a tutorial video on importing .pgn symbols to cc3+, specifically ca3, but in general would work also. The written instructions are a bit confusing because there seems to be a step missing for the ca3 one. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this.
Hi Roy. Joe Sweeney has a video tutorial from 2012, Creating custom symbol catalogs from PNG files which may help. The symbols are for use in Cosmographer, but the process is the same for all custom symbol sets, with some minor variants regarding where you store the files, etc. It is done using CC3, not CC3+, and does use Win 7, so the directory being talked about for CC3+ is now by default the Win 10 Program Data one (there's a note in the comments now that alerts you to this latter point). If you run into problems with this, I'm sure someone here will be able to help you further. Good luck!

Other than that there is always the manual itself, and then there is the Tome of Ultimate Mapping?
Joe Slayton referred me to it once, and its proven really useful.
I didn't realise it was kind of out of date.
