How did you create the air brush effect with your foliage / forest cover? I am sure you used a sheet effect but what did you use to get the dark/light coverage airbrushed look on the interior of the forest wood?

Technically, the only 'non-BASIC' CC3 image in that entire map (besides the crest which I nabbed online), are the trees which are from CD Pro.
The buildings were made as a drawing tool, making a solid white polygon and then drawing over that with a solid black line (thickness is I believe 2.5 offhand).
Other than that, the roads, water, land, city background etc are just polygons, and lines.

The forests were done by first making a dark green polygon for the main forest. Then I made a second sheet (i simply called it Vegetation Top), and on that sheet I drew Fractal Polygons, just clicking all over the place. No rhyme or reason, and not caring if the polygon crossed over itself or not. I did this with two different colors of a lighter green.
I then gave it a blur (150) and a transperency (50%).
Could you also get the same effect with a cloud transparency fill?....being new to CC I haven't tried this. So effectively draw a polygon with the fill as the transparency and no border line.

Very good work.

Just a thought.
