Frostgrave

Recently been messing around with Frostgrave and made a map today at lunch to sort out the style. It is pretty rough but I like where it is going. I need to find more ruined buildings.

Have you considered making the shadows a bit less intense, and maybe not quite so tall or blurry?
With snow on the ground they would normally be a lot paler than usual
I've tried changing the colour of shadows cast onto snow to a dark blue tone (with much reduced opacity in the shadow itself to make them appear pale grey-blue) with reasonably good effects.
I like the way you've taken the lid off the temple and enlarged it quite a lot.
Maybe quite a lot less blur on the shadows?
This is looking good so far. I like what you've done.
I do have a couple of suggestions, if you don't mind. The edges on your stream and pathways seem a little too ridged. An edge fade, inner would give them a softer edge, like the snow has partially covered them.
Also, you said you were looking for ruined buildings. I know the CSUAC and the Dundjinni Archives have ruined buildings. Bogie's Mapping Objects for cc3+ has some too, I believe. And all of these symbol sets can be downloaded through the Vintyri Project website. If you look at the sticky threads, I believe there is a link in the resources page? It's been a while since I've looked for them.
Just make sure you read the license agreement. I hope that helps!
I'm not new but not been around a lot since my girls were born 5+ years, but the are getting big enough that I'm starting to find a bit more hobby time again.
Quentin thank you! The ruins are basically full buildings built on a village sized map so lots of zooming and multiple layers. I am having fun making the floors and roofs with holes in them.
As for the why I'm making this map for the skirmish game Frostgrave, which is set in a ruined city. There is supposed to be massive amounts of terrain on the table to block line of sight.
You also always zip up the word document and attach the zip file. I don't think the forum is set to accept word documents, but it does allow zips.
here is the draft version.
I'll try to clean it up and make it prettier in the future
Update: I addded the edited version 2 to this posst
