Disappearing multipoly elements

I'm having an issue where, when I explode a multipoly, all of the resulting lines seem to be erased and I can't figure out why. I've done some searching through the manuals and in this forum, but can't find an answer (plus I'm very busy right now putting together other elements of a presentation that the map goes in, which is due tomorrow), though I do have a work-around (just using a sheet with the background I want underneath the multipoly). I may just not be grasping one of the concepts of the process, but it seems pretty straight-forward. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Did u try changing the fill style to a hollow with a regular color before exploding it?

Only other thing I can think to try is using Split.

One possibility is you moved the Multipoly to a new layer. When you explode it, all the lines go back to their original layers -- if those layers are not visible, the lines would not display.

Good thought, but the problem was resolved after a reboot. CC3 seems to do funny things when your memory maxes out. I'd have thought 4gb would be enough, but I guess not.
