So, i'll drop Etrani Estate somewhere on this small island off the coast of Mercia. I'm trying REALLY hard to stick with one style. I've chosen to try doing a map in the Annual Dark Realms style. There are very few symbols in this set, but i do love the fills, so it'll be a pretty simple map with few elements other than settlements and forests. Here's where i am at so far. Suggestions?

I can see what you mean about the fills. They are beautiful aren't they.
Your artistic side is coming out in the careful placement and design in this map.
But if you wanted to just experiment, how about using a slightly more transparent white glow?
Sometimes its the sheer power of the contrast between black and white that seem to sort of... slightly overcook the effect
You really have a talent for finding and combining colors that work beautifully together.
Well, i had a bit of a fall and after two days of rest i've just not the time, nor the inclination to finish a village map to get Etrani Estate in quite yet. So, here at least, is Ambracia
Resting for two days after a fall doesn't sound pleasant, hope you are or will soon be ok.
