Breaking Cave Walls to Join with Corridor Walls

I know I've seen how to do this in one of the tutorials, but I can find it and can't figure it out. Can someone explain or point me to where the process is described?
CC3+ w/ DD, I've added caves and regular rooms and corridors, but at the joint between the two I can't figure out how to break the cave wall so that I can trim back the walls so they look nice and clean together. Also, should I tr to combine them to make sure the effects work well, or not bother?

In short, use the brake command, first selection has to be "outside" the area to be removed.
I thought I had been doing that, but did a Remove Nodes (REDN) and then the Brake worked.
