Skew symbols?

I'm in desperate need of a hill symbol to match the Schley drawing style. What I'm trying to do is create Guillin Hills like here: https://www.google.com/search?q=guilin+hills&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjKrJqJvNrWAhUK_mMKHZyeA_gQ_AUICigB&biw=1278&bih=745

I need a few hills for variety. I have no experience making my own symbols. I was wondering if there was a way to stretch normal hills for the effect I want. I only see a way to scale symbols but the x and y are locked together.

Any ideas?

To scale X and Y independently when placing symbols, just check the 'Independent X and Y' checkbox in the Symbol Parameters dialog.

If you use the scale command to scale symbols after placing, keep an eye on the command line. Notice that it says you can hold down ctrl to scale X/Y independently.
  • I'll gave that a try. Kinda looks like I'm squooshing the hills which is what i was afraid of but if I take my time I may be able to get something to work.

    Thanks for the help!
