Installation questions

Hello all,
I have used CC in the past and have many different versions on cd. Is there any reason that I might need to start with my earliest version for a new install on new PC? my latest Version is CC3 and I thought that is was an upgrade disk that needed CC2pro already installed.
thank you for taking the time to reply to a bone-head question but I wanted to have as clean an install as possible.

It's also a great opportunity to buy the upgrade to CC3+ and start from there instead
