Adding navigation lines (Sarah Wroot Style)

Hi all,

I've started a map in the Sarah Wroot style from Annual 1 and I was playing with adding a second set of navigation lines per the style guide section two. However, what I got was the truncated symbol below: the lines don't extend to the borders.

What am I missing or doing wrong?

I had the same issue. The way I dealt with it was to enlarge the symbol until the lines were long enough. This makes the line width really big, so then I just used the Adjust Properties button to change the line width. Pretty simple.

I highly suggest Quenten's recommendation. Use Trim to Entity. Nav lines are actually the example used in the online help.

I got it to work, but the online help isn't as helpful as it could be. It was only through re-reading the manual and especially TOUM that I realized I needed to select a side of the map boundary and then the line pointing to that side, and then do it again for each line. And neither source makes it clear you have to select the interior line of the map border. (If you, as I first did, select the exterior line of the map border, then choosing the line that points toward it will draw a nav line to the *opposite* border.) This required trial and error to figure out.

Still, I did figure it out, and all is now right with the world. At least as far as nav lines go. Thanks for the help, everyone.

Yeah, sorry. I'd have written more detailed instructions in my post but I was on my mobile phone and it isn't really made for that sort of thing. Glad you worked it out!
