Latest news is the poll is closed. There's been no official announcement yet, but unless there's a complaint or enquiry going on backstage someplace, when Bogie gets up and has breakfast etc to be ready and awake to make the announcement (its only 6 am where he is right now) it looks like I might just have won the Lite Challenge
Just a point of interest here, but the vast majority of votes in my favour were cast by PS users - one a professional artist, so I'm even more convinced that the anti CC3 movement is purely down to people who tried it but couldn't get on with it spitting sour grapes all over the place - and they are evidently a very tiny minority, or I wouldn't have come anywhere near close to first place.
I saw you did - along with Hadrian, Tony and Kirkspencer - and thank you all
I'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment, but still waiting to make sure there's no last minute problem before thanking everyone, since that's a bit like an assumption before Bogie or one of the CL's congratulate me. I can't really believe it myself!
Lol I absolutely love photoshop and have several years experience with it but I have to say the ease and beauty of CC3+ has totally sucked me in! I'm only using PS for after the map is made to add overlays because I still haven't worked that out yet! I have to say though, CC3+ DOES look really daunting at first, I freaked a little when I first opened it, but with a little persistence, it's an amazing tool. I open it every day now and have about 15 maps in progress! Haha I have become totally addicted, just going between each one when I get some inspiration! I wish I had found CC3+ earlier, and this forum, coz you guys rock and are all extremely inspirational to me.
Anyway, Sue, CONGRATS! Whether you win or not, this is an amazing map, you have so much talent and it really shows in the care and details you put into everything that you make.
I think you were cheating: You presented for the lite challenge something that was fully worthy of the full challenge ! Many congratulations Sue, it was really deserved!
Now, the only problem with this is - you've set yourself a pretty high bar. We're going to always expect such excellence from you from this point forward...
Funnily enough one of my PS friends over at the Guild said that exact same thing to me about 6 months ago when I created GymnopusP, which got me to 4th place in a field of 8 in a regular Challenge (gold compass award), and I like to think that I haven't let him down by only winning the Lite Challenge instead (silver compass award). He certainly 'repped' me for Scribble Rock, so I guess I'm doing ok
As long as nobody minds me continuing to show my GIMP enhanced maps here, then I aim to please
As an add-on, perhaps mentioning the parts GIMP was used for, or the fact it was used, would likely be a good thing so peeps don't get outta sorts when CC can't produce the complete look you've managed...

Oh don't worry. I do understand that it might be confusing.
I was intending to either post both versions - CC3 version first, or post only the CC3 version here, and link to the finished GIMP enhanced map at the Guild.
I won't be using GIMP in my Community Project maps

The waves are just brilliant. And the cliffs are just perfect.
Here it is

I just hope everything is ok...
I won
I'm still a bit gobsmacked.
I came second in a pool competition once (the bar game, not the wet kind), but I've never won anything in my entire life before now!
Many congratulations Sue, it was really deserved!
EDIT: and ninjad nicely by Jim!
Thank you Jim
Now are you throwing a party on this Island?
And yes - most certainly - all are welcome
