Posted By: HadrianVIYou can in fact copy everything. That's how I do it. Copy everything in the area I want to a new map with the right size, then get everything I need to add in place and delete what I don't need.
I do like the names, also the ones on the coast. But I would probably slightly amend Ship's Haven, because being a large city it would most likely have a more individual name - that could have derived from Ship's Haven... For example Skiphavn
I've moved Ship's Haven down the coast to a smaller village, and renamed it 'Deepwater', much better for a city I think
I'm glad you like it I do love the name Ship's Haven but I agree that it does not at all suit a big city, I feel like Deepwater is much more mature, and speaks about the city itself. I already have ideas about pearl diving and structures built out over the bay!
3 rivers going through mountains still - at Molgon, Farlight and one to the extreme right near an unnamed settlement. Though you may already be aware of this
@Quenten: On the original map, there are several layers of mountains and I am not sure which one pixelkitteh used here. Some of them do not exactly match the final mountain ranges and I used rather strong edge fade inner effects on some of them. Therefore, the mountain ranges here may look a bit different from the original map. In some cases the rivers on my map would actually be on a slope, if it was not for the strong edge fade inner effects or transparency effects. And I think this was the case with the river to the right.
The only criticism I have is that I would probably increase the edge fate on the sea contour a bit, so the two colors blend in together a bit smoother.
Only one suggestion - where you have a much larger EFI on the sea contour, you may need to extend that polygon quite a long way outside the map boundary to the top and left hand side, so that the deep water doesn't fade away inside the visible extent of the map
EDIT: Oh! I'm sorry. I thought you meant sick, as in 'sick of doing this right now'. I do hope you get well soon, Pixel!
If you want to follow Sue's advice, then there are two ways to do it. First, edit your drawtool so it is not limited to the map border or use the polygon shapes on the right hand side of the monitor.:) To cover up the overlapping parts you can then select the screen sheet and place white rectangles around the map untill everything is covered.
Nicely done map! One question: is the village of Farlight and the town of Farlight an oversight or intentional? Otherwise, all in all, it's really pleasing to the eye. Great job, and thanks for the contribution!

Oh my gosh I didn't notice! Blame the sickness.
Sue & Hadrian - Thank you both! I have fixed it, it was annoying me.
Barliman - thank you very much, I think it's quite the improvement
Thank you all for the well wishes, I feel rather crappy at the moment, winter sucks!!
If you want to save time messing around take a note of how wide your EFI is, and make use of your grid and snap features to extend your edges by at least that much (I usually do a bit more to allow for a change of heart later on, allowing the possibility that I might want to enlarge the fade distance)

Glad you approve! It's starting to come along now

This is looking fabulous.

This is a really, really beautiful map.
