Help! Ok....so i've decided on Island I on the community map. I'm thinking...kinda like indonesia? Tropical, rainforests, jungles, volcano or two.....but I really cannot for the life of me decide on a mountain symbol. I am playing around with hues of my bitmap fills, and i think i've begun to like the greens i've blended so far (more to come). But, what mountain symbols to use??? Do these green ones look ridiculous? I really want the feel of mountains covered in vegetation. Any ideas, suggestions, comments?
As you can see, I am not really an overland mapper (you know i love me a good City/Town/Village or Battlemap)

Then this is a great opportunity to get some more experience. Overland maps with no bearing on your actual campaign. I think this project can become a great testbed for various styles and map type, which results in lots of great maps for the project, and experience for the mappers.
I think mixing them a bit does look much better, yes.
I'll work on this more over the weekend
Btw, which forest symbols are you using? They look familiar to me... Probably the jungle trees from Schley?
Malajuri's northern hook is sparsely populated with a mountain range filled with swirling pools of turquoise waters, and overgrown jungles. Mostly tribal humanoids, kobolds, lizardfolk, dragonkin, goblins, orcs and even dragons live among the dense wildlands. Conversely, the southern hook is populated by the goodly races of elves, dwarves, humans, halflings and gnomes and offer safe harbor among their walled and closely guarded settlements. I've named some of the important regions and landmarks, but otherwise I leave the interesting spots i've added to the map to be named by the regional mappers (myself included). I love how you scaled the mountain symbols and placed the tree symbols.
