Western City States of Jana

Here is a local player map of the Western City States of Jana.
It is another style that I am playing around with for my local player maps.
This one is actually a merging of two styles: Classic Fantasy & SS1 (Hand Drawn / Hollow)
I am looking at this style for the City States of Jana.
It will also work nicely for the Kush, Tasman, Syene, the Orcs of Mavros, and the Panna Naagon.
The Jana are based off of ancient India.
Since this is just an experimental map, I threw some of my other cultures in their as well: The Pirates of Nitriae, the Orcs of Mavros, Kush, Mahkum, Syene, Panna Naagon, the Desert of Dudael, Golgothus, and Shisr.

Let´s make some criticism though

[just ignore me if you don´t want to read it]

The red labelling... i don´t see it. I´d try another colour. Grey or even dark brown could be nice.
The border... same. It doesn´t fit. I´d go with some wooden border or something in the lines of the map you´re drawing.
The ships icons should be a bit bigger and i´m not sure they really fit in there.Probably i would colour them.
The compass colour doesn´t fit and even more if we take all that red from labelling and border. I´d try another kind of compass.

Let me check.. okay i attach one which should fit better if you go for a wooden border...

The compass is the default one for the Classic Fantasy style. In addition, many of the symbols in that set are red. Since I did not use them, I used the red text and faint red in the border to help tie the compass into the map. I also added the faint blue to add a little bit of color to the map. I wanted a old parchment style but still wanted it to pop some and still keep that "old" feel. I actually got some of my design ques from playing around with the Empire of the Sun style. Thanks for the ideas though! :-)

Like this very much; the colour combination really works well for me. And I hadn't realised till I zoomed in on the full-size version that some of what looks like "shading" or little textured elements on the version here is actually separate tiny symbols!
