Yes, I got it, thanks. It has been added to the bottom of the list.
Thanks to everyone who sent an entry so far. All entries received are on the list. I'll also make this a last call to anyone who hasn't yet sent me a world, if you are planning on doing so, drop me a hint so I know about it and can wait with the poll until it arrives. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow evening (CET), I'll create the poll then. Also, if you sent me something and it is NOT currently on the list, I didn't get it, or I overlooked your mail/post, so please contact me.
To anyone going to see the maps, notice that there is about 20MB of images there, so it may take a little while to load depending on your connection speed. Have patience.
Ok, haven't heard anything from anyone else, and we also have a nice collection of worlds to vote on.
When voting, remember that the primary thing we are looking for are good landmasses/continents and coastlines. Other terrain features (mountains, etc) are secondary to this, but good positions doesn't hurt when going forward. Do not pay any heed to the coloration of the map. That is just caused by different shaders/color setup in the maps, and the same settings can easily be applied to all maps. (Also don't worry about the striping pattern of the last map, that has no bearing whatsoever on the CC3+ maps we make from it, and should not count against it)
The contenders are here. Please make sure that all 13 world images load properly, and look through all of them before deciding.
You can cast your vote here.
To give people fair chance of voting, I'll leave this open until noon (CET), Tuesday February 7th. (2017-02-07T11:00:00Z)
In the case of a tie, I'll just have my cat decide (Or we'll do a quick re-vote among just the maps with the most votes).
And to those that submitted a world, voting for your own world is of course perfectly fine. (Voting is anonymous, so difficult to check in any case)
Posted By: BarlimanI had a hard time choosing between 11 and 13.
Go for the middle ground then, and vote 12
I did do a single-option because we only need one map, so I wanted to force people to decide for the one they wanted the most. Second place doesn't really count for anything here. And a vote for all he popular ones is really just as useless as no vote, because it doesn't change the balance between the entries.
Since we hit a new page, I'll just repost the voting info

Two worlds stood out in the votes, World 13 (Quenten) and World 11 (Shessar), but the final tally goes in Shessar's favor. Congratulations. Thanks to everyone submitting a world to the this, and I hope you will be able to re-purpose your worlds for other uses. Perhaps someone in the forums needs an FT world to be their own world on? If so, I am sure the creator of one of these would lend it to you.
My suggestions for going forward: - We skip the world map for now, and start mapping each continent. This allows us to get more people started instead of waiting for the world map - We then do a world map at a later stage, back-porting interesting features form the continent maps - When mapping the continents, we use the FT map as a guideline. The coastlines will be pretty strict obviously, but ideally, larger features like mountains and lakes should also be represented similarily. Of course, with CC3+'s symbol based maps, mountain ranges won't look the same as they do in a FT map anyway, so there is plenty of room for interpretation and visual improvisation. - We use only map styles from basic CC3+ for the continent maps. Since they are not designed to seamlessly merge, there is no reason to use the same style for all of them, but I think that the world map and continent map should be openable even if you only own basic CC3+. We won't have any such restrictions on maps further down the hierarchy, allowing people to use the styles they prefer, as long as such styles are possible to obtain for anyone wanting to use the map.
Note that these are only suggestions. I am open for discussion.
This thread is a bit long, so I will post a call for mappers to do the continents in a new thread, but I thought we could discuss my suggestions for going forward here first.
How are you planning to divide the continents if there are more mappers than available continents, or a couple of the continents are much larger than the smaller ones?
When I submitted the map, I had run out of personal time to finish it, so submitted it unfinished. I have the finished version now. The only difference is the addition of a few more smaller islands.
We can go with the submitted version or this one. Thoughts?

Thanks. ?
And then... when there's no more to be added, how are we voting?

I finally ended up picking 13.
It is the one where they looked more like continents than a collection of large islands.

World 11

I hate to complicate this more but...
