Not being able to trace edited poligons

Greetings all.

Preparing my map, i noticed i can´t properly use the Trace command using the Drawing Tool.

If i try to Trace over a previously edited landmass coastline, i´m getting just a few points of the landmass instead of the entire coastline.

Posting some images and the FCW map on next posts.

I notice your polygons have smoothing applied - try turning that off with "smooth to straight" before you start your trace.

Seems to be the close proximity of smooth nodes causing an issue. I was able to properly trace it by first using smooth to straight on the landmass, tracing it, and then using straight to smooth on both the landmass and new entity.

Straight/fractal traces of smooth polygons will always be a little off though, simply because they only duplicates the nodes in the shape, and not the smoothness.

Indeed, that was the issue. Thanks! I got a weird solution aswell but not as refined as yours: copying the landmass, changing the texture as i desired, then editing the landmass and deleting the part i didn´t want to trace. At the end, it will be as i wanted. But still your method is better and faster.
