Activating Sheet Effects

I have a drawing that I've been working on with multiple sheet effects. After working on it for a while (after multiple saves and continuous editing), for some reason I can no longer activate the sheet effects. I can go to the "Sheets and Effects" dialog and check the Activate Sheet Effects checkbox, but the effects themselves do not get displayed anymore once I close the dialog box. Clicking "Redraw" does not fix the problem either. I can open other files with Sheet effects in them and they seem to work just fine. I've tried restarting CC3, rebooting my machine, all to no avail. The only thing I think of is that somehow the file got corrupted, but I can do everything in it except activate sheets. Or rather, I can activate the sheets, but they do not get rendered when the drawing updates.

I'm running CC3 v3.20 on Windows XP SP3.

I've had a similar problem with crashing when I activated sheet effects. My work-around was to hide all the sheets but one & activate the effects, then alternately save then unhide one sheet at a time & refresh the map. Repeat one sheet at a time until you have all of them you need un-hidden.

You should also install the latest patch to make sure you have the latest CC3 version. Patch 7 will give you version 3.24, which is currently the latest. I don't know if it will fix this issue, but it is generally a good idea to have the latest patch installed in any case.
