Help with Dungeon Walls and Corners
Hello ProFantasy Community
I'm a long time owner of CC3, DD3, and CD3. I've just started using CC3+ with DD3+ and am learning how to make dungeon maps.
I'm having a problem with dungeon walls not connecting fully. Some corners on walls are not square. I searched the forum for solutions and found that many have suggested using the corner command to solve this problem. However, I cannot figure out how to use the corner command correctly. It seems really straight forward, but when I attempt to use this command and select my first entity I have to select the node that wall is on which becomes a problem when trying to select the second entity which is on the same exact node. In effect I cannot select it in order to form my corner. If I repeatedly click on the node where the walls touch I can get the command to follow trough but the entities are not correct and I get a corner that has jagged ends..
Here is the process that forum user Dogtag left in another post. I am trying to follow this process.
A quick and easy, but less elegant way to fix those pesky corners could be the CORNER command. It's a little-known gem that doesn't seem to get a lot of press for some reason.
Type CORNER in the command line (I don't know where it is in the menus, if anywhere).
Click one wall.
Click the other wall.
Click the point where the corner should be.
Right-click and then select Do it from the pop-up menu.
Voila! Magic. If you have trouble, try changing the order in which you click the walls.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure why I included that instruction about clicking where the corner should be. That's unnecessary. After you click the two entities, just right-click and select Do It. Also, when attempting the CORNER command, it's usually good to temporarily hide the sheet with the floor on it so you don't accidentally select the floor when trying to click a wall.
That said, the CORNER command only works between two separate entities. If you're trying to connect the start- and end-points of a single wall entity, it won't work.
Without seeing your map, it sounds like the issue might be because you started the wall at a corner of the room and then drew around the room and back to the corner. If that's the case, there are two possible solutions.
1. Convert the path entity that makes up the wall into a hollow polygon.
- Right-click the Explode button and select Path to Poly from the pop-up menu.
- Select the wall.
- Right-click and select Do It from the pop-up menu.
Or,2. Avoid the problem altogether
Delete the wall and redraw it, but this time start somewhere along the side of the room rather than at a corner. Walls will never match up at corners. That's because the thickness of the wall will always form a "notch" at the corner where one end meets another.
I hope that helps. Sorry for the confusion with the CORNER command. And thanks for pointing out my weird error. I went back through the forum and fixed the two posts where wrote that. Happily, there was one where I wrote it correctly the first time.
Cheers,
