CC3+ Castle Walls?

Hi Team,

Brand new to CC3+ and have Google'd significantly but returned no answer.

What's the best approach for doing castle walls (parapet and merlons)?

I'm working in DD3+ which is obviously intended for indoor settings but given the power of the software I assume there's a way to do this.

I have read bits about CA46 but from what I can tell that's not compatible with CC3+ yet?

Well, the Parapet is basically a wall. Depending on the thickness and such, I might wish to draw it using a polygon, and not the wall tool, and give it about the same effects as I would give the walls. The merlons could then be drawn on top of that, probably on their own sheet, but with mostly the same effects, probably a bit shorter shadows. Again, I would probably draw them individually using a regular polygon, or even the box tool. Once you have drawn one, you could obviously just copy it. For regular placements, having Snap on can be a great aide.
  • I think in a month at the most we should have the second and last volume of the Dundjinni Archives for CC3+ released. It has a very extensive collection of objects for creating beautiful castle and city walls. If you like traditional roofed walls, like those found in many parts of medieval Europe, you already will find all that you need in the Vintyri Cartographic Collection for CC3+. All of these CC3+ add-ons are free. For more information, see this posting:
