New CC3 - help with loading templates

I've decided to bite the bullet and learn how to use CC3. I've
installed it and the update so that it is now version 3.24. However, it
seems to be full of weird glitches - or I just don't know how to use it. For example, if I try to open a new
map, and pick a pre-defined template, as the Essentials Guide suggests, it only offers me CC3 templates,
annual parchment, Mercator and Sarah Woot templates. It doesn't offer
me any CC2-Pro templates. If I change path and go into the drawing
wizard folder it has one CC2-Pro template only. Have I misunderstood
what templates should be there, or have I missed an update, or is it in
fact glitched?

As far as I know, the old CC2 templates are not included in CC3.

Using the wizard instead of selecting a template does give you the opportunity to use a CC2-style template though (The one you found in the wizards directory), and through the wizard you can set several parameters which eliminates the need of having all those different CC2 templates one used to have.

If you still have CC2 installed, you can also, when selecting a template, browse to your CC2 installation and grab a template from there. These ones does not have all the sheets set up the CC3 way, which may cause some problems, especially with effects, but for basic CC2 style mapping, they should suffice (You may need to move some sheets around after the drawing tools have created them)
  • Ah, thank you, I must have misunderstood.
