Small City of Halinyn

Here is a picture of the city of Halinyn in the Kingdom of Mirilandi.

Halinyn is a relatively minor city, but it is a border city with Gibeon to the south, and is a garrison station for the Royal Army of Mirilandi guarding the southern border.

    Nice clean looking map :)

You might not have seen it, but the title is escaping the box just a little bit.

Other than that its pretty cool :)

Nice one, i like the fields. Still needs a bit of work on the textures and maybe on village´s pavement, but looks fine!
  • I hadn't noticed the text slipping out. It didn't do that until it was saved as JPG. When you view it in CC3 it doesn't do that.

I'm trying to figure out how I will do cemeteries in the two churches...

Text is a bit of a tricky beast with CC3 maps, because they aren't based on pixels. This means that the text will render slightly differently depending on zoom level and resolution.
Read the 'Taming Text' chapter in the User Manaul for more information about this.

I've had that happen to me as well.

In the manual it explains that CC3 has no control over the way text grows or shrinks at different zoom levels, because its appearance is controlled by Windows - the fonts being Windows fonts. A suggested solution is that you make text that is placed in boxes centre justified, and then adjust the size of the font until you don't have this problem when you render.

If you want to edit existing text you can use the Edit/Text/Edit text... option, select the text and right click for "do it". You can change the alignment to centre justified by clicking the properties button, which means your text will overhang the box by the same amount on either side - making it easier to adjust the font to a more suitable size for rendering :)
