My Text keep disappearing?

I made a huge map about 50,000 miles in diameter with Fractal Terrain and converted it over to Campaign Cartographer. Every time I try to label something like the oceans, it would disappear on refresh. Is there a limit on how big the map can be in CC3+? I tried in on smaller maps and everything works fine...

It sounds like your text labels may be on a sheet that other sheets are drawing over. After you type your text label, but before you place it, take a look at the second text box on the status bar at the top of the screen. It should display information that begins with S: . Does it read, S: TEXT or something similar?

That text box indicates the active sheet, where you will place your text label when you click a location on the map. Sheets are rendered/drawn in a specific order. If the text is going to a sheet "beneath" other sheets then whatever is on those other sheets gets drawn "over" your text.

Click the Sheets and Effects button on the left side and look for the sheet that was displayed in the status bar. Sheets are listed here in the order they are drawn, starting at the top. So the first sheet listed is the first sheet drawn, and thus all sheets that follow it in the list are drawn over it. For example:

    Background
    Sea
    Land
    Text

In the list above, the Background sheet is drawn first. The Text sheet is drawn last, on top of all the other sheets. If the sheet where you are placing your text is higher in the list, then other things may be getting drawn on top of your text, hiding it.

You can use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to adjust where the sheet is and when it gets rendered. However, if your text is on a sheet that needs to be where it is in the list (such as the Sea sheet), you can move the text to the Text sheet. You can create a text sheet first, if you don't have one.

To move text to another sheet:
    1. Right-click the Change Properties button, and then select Move to Sheet from the pop-up menu.
The cursor changes so you can select your text.
    2. Right-click and select Entity Type from the pop-up menu.
      A dialog box displays.
    3. Check the box next to 2D Text, and then click OK
The dialog box closes and all text in your map is selected.
    4. Right-click again, and select Do It from the pop-up menu.
      The Drawing Sheets dialog displays.
    5. Pick the sheet where you want to move the text, such as the TEXT sheet, and then click OK.
The text moves to the sheet you chose.
    6. Click Refresh.
      Your text should now display!
Now you need to clear the "2D Text" selection setting.
    7. Click the Change Properties button (or any button that will require you to make a selection).
The cursor changes so you can select your text.
    8. Right-click and select Entity Type from the pop-up menu.
      A dialog box displays.
    9. UNcheck the box next to 2D Text, and then click OK
      The dialog box closes.
    10. Press Esc to cancel the button you clicked.
If this works as hoped, then be sure that the Sheet Indicator in the status bar at the top lists the correct sheet when placing text in the future. If necessary, click the indicator just before placing the text and choose the correct sheet.

    I hope that helps.

    Cheers,
