Installing CC3 after CC3+?

Not too long ago, my computer died. Fortunately, I had learned from previous disasters and kept all my active data on removable media. Unfortunately, this did not include my software which I had to download and reinstall from source. I decided this was a great time to upgrade to CC3+. It was after I did this I discovered that only some of the add-ons and annuals had been upgraded to be compatible with it. Fine, I installed them. That's when I realized that I had been using my old Cartographer Annuals as auxiliary help documentation for new features that were not properly covered in the main program help (some of the main dialog screen pages are very out-of-date). So now I need to install CC3 to use (and hopefully port) them. The Transitions page says I can use both CC3 and CC3+. Are there any issues I need to know before I install CC3?

I did not have any problems installing CC3 to my Windows 7 machine after I'd been using CC3+ on it exclusively for months. I would say, take the usual precautions:
    • Disable your antivirus before installing.
    • Right-click the setup files and choose "Run as Administrator" (do this for all PF setup files).
    • Start and then close CC3 after you install each add-on (I don't do this for annuals, personally, but it can't hurt).
    • Install the latest update for CC3 (Update 11, I think).
    • Re-enable your antivirus after installing.
Someone else might offer some tips, but that worked for me without any problems.

    Good luck,

  • I have them in folders like this:

    c:\Profantasy\CC3\

    c:\Profantasy\CC3Plus\

They do work fine; however, Windows will want to assign just one of them to be using the fcw, fsc, etc files. So if you click on a map, it will load CC3 or CC3Plus, which ever it has assinged to thos files.

What I do is run the program I want, and load the map I want to work on by browsing to the folder where the map is located..

If you have a web site, my suggestion would be to make folders under CC3 or CC3Plus that fit the folders on your web site.
