Extending Objects
I can't seem to figure out if it's possible to freehand-extend an existing object without having to paste one over it. I've had to create a separate object and move it over the previous one to create an extension, and now the contour lines are visible and it just looks terrible. I know that one can create nodes and pull the existing object out, but I find that it's not precise enough. please help.

Welcome to the forum :-)
Would it be possible to show us a picture of the problem you are having?
It looks to me like you might have your land masses (the object and its extension) on different sheets, since drawing an extra bit of landmass on the same sheet as all the rest of the landmasses will automatically blend it in with the rest wherever they overlap.
If that isn't the case, and everything is on the same sheet, you may have outlines around your objects/landmasses, which can usually be removed by clicking the lowermost paintpot button on the left, selecting the landmass, and clicking "do it". In the dialogue box that appears you will find a small tick box near the bottom that says something like "hide outline if filled". Check that box and click OK.
If that doesn't work, try hiding the COASTLINE sheet, and/or the CONTOURS sheet. (I'm remembering off the top of my head here).
If none of that helps at all, let us know. And one of the others will probably be able to suggest a few more alternatives to try.
By default, the user manual is installed in the C:\ProgramData\Profantasy\CC3Plus\Documentation\ folder (on a computer running Windows 7 or higher).
In a nutshell:
- Select the drawing tool you used to make the landmass.
- Press E for Edit.
- Click the point on the entity where you want to start editing. Yes! (it's awesome) You can click smack-dab along the middle (or anywhere) on an existing entity and redraw the part you want.
- When you finish your edit, right-click. The Command Prompt will tell you to pick a node to connect to.
- Click a node to connect your edited section to. I usually zoom in a bit so I can see exactly where to click (you can use the zoom commands while you're in the middle of performing other commands). It isn't required but I find it helps me avoid any node-related weirdness. In the event of node-related weirdness, though, you can always click Undo and try again.
Edit is one of — if not the — best hidden commands in the program.I hope that helps,
