UPDATE: Bogie's Objects & Update 8

UPDATE:

Since my original posting, CC3+ has gone through Updates 7 and 8, current at the time of this writing to Version 3.74.

Beginning with Update 7 (Version 3.73) CC3+ implemented a new and better multi-resolution system for the graphic icons in toolbars. As a result, a number of users (see postings below) had to update the icon sets that we delivered with Bogie's Mapping Objects 1.0. Today (Sunday, July 24) we updated the installation sets to automatically install the new icons. The only special steps that one now needs to do are:

1. Copy the file FCW32.mnu from (DataFolders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus to a temporary, non-CC3+ folder.

2. Install Update 8.

3. Copy the file FCW32.mnu from the temporary, non-CC3+ folder back into (DataFolders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus, overwriting the version that is there.

These steps are necessary because Update 8 overwrites the extended overland toolbar that you now have with a new version that has only the basic icons. This copy operation will restore the extended version.

For those who wonder whether they downloaded before the new versions was available: It has been online since 1 p.m. (13 hours) on Sunday, July 24, 2016. That's 12 noon London time and 7 a.m. New York time.

Well that didn't work quite right. Everything seemed just fine, i could "see" the invisible icon squares and if i clicked on them, they worked fine....i had all Bogie, CSUAC and Vintyri. I did the Icon name changing, copied the backed up files back into CC3Plus and now i don't have Bogie or the Vintyri icons....ONLY when i choose the SS4 symbol set do the bogie icons come back not under dungeon or city or overland. What have i done wrong now???? God the anxiety level over this is giving me grey hairs. I should note i did not install perspectives 3 yet. Im still not really using it, and am not sure that i really want to at this point, so i left it uninstalled. could that be a problem?

Where are you? Did you install Update 7 already. There's no big problem here. I just need to know a little bit to help you fix it.

Interesing. After all the above fixes... no icon bar under Overland, thats gone. I do have the Bogie, Vintyri, CSUAC; under DD3, CD3 and SS4.

Update 7 overwrites your version of fcw32.mnu. Therefore, Step 10, as listed above:

10. Copy the backed up files city.mnu, dungeon.mnu and FCW32.mnu back into (Data Folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\

andi have the vintyri symbols up just to show that they ARE there, i just have to go to my symbols folder to get them...

Unzip the attached file into (Data Folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus. Let me know if this fixes the problem.

I did the install as well, but the Vintyri collection is empty when I try to select one. Ex: select Base Buildings Brown Beaver Tail, nothing shows up.

The symbols aren't showing up because you haven't installed them ... or if you have, then in some place that doesn't show up in your screen shots.

However, that just tells you what's up. It doesn't help you do anything about it. To help you, it might be a good start if you told me which Vintyri file(s) you downloaded.

oops, sorry Mark... I got ahead of myself again, didn't I?

I lost my toolbars when I installed Bogie's final release, and you sent me the toolbars. You've just gone through the instructions to set the toolbars back up after installing update 7. In my own garbled way, I was trying to ask if I was going to need to go through this process before installing the update, or if I have the updated toolbars, and can just install the update without going through this process first.

With what you already have ... (This is valid only for LadieStorm!)

1. Close CC3+ if it's open.

2. In the Windows (File) Explorer, go to:

(Data Folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\

3. Make a backup copy of the file FCW32.mnu that's in (Data Folders)\ProFRantasy\CC3Plus. Pu this backup copy in a non-CC§Plus folder. We're doing this because Update 7 will overwrite your FCW32.mnu with the basic version that doesn't have the CSUAC, Bogie of Vintyri toolbars.

4. In the Windows (File) Explorer, go to:

(Data Folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\Bitmaps

5. This folder contains two lower level folders named "Icons" and "New Icons."

6. Rename the folder "Icons" as "Old Icons"

7. Rename the folder "New Icons" as "Icons"

8. Copy the backed up file FCW32.mnu back into (Data Folders)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\

9. Reopen CC3+. You now should have the new and improved icons in your toolbars.

I'm not German, but I was in this very commercial centre less than 2 weeks ago... It was my first visit in Munich, I was there for work. I was delighted by the city that was both very pretty, and looking like a really pleasant place to live. I hope this situation will be stopped very fast, that the casualties will not increase and that Munich as en entity will not be permanently harmed. The only way terrorists can win, whoever they are, is if, in order to be protected from them, we forget what makes us different from them.

I did backup the mnu files and put them back. Didn't work for fcw32.mnu, but the one you posted for Lorelei worked.

Except for the update first entry, everything up to this point is outdated due to the release of Bogie's Mapping Objects for CC3+ Version 1.01.

As of July 24, 2016 1044 EDT it is not possible to download the CC3+ version of Bogie's Mapping Objects. Other versions on the site can be downloaded.

Reason?

Also curious as to where to obtain CC3+ update 8, as it is not available in the CC3+ Updates list.

The bogie file download seems to be working now (was not working 10 minutes ago).

Sorry about the download problems. I have no idea what the cause was. The file has been there for more than 5 hours and still is. The server log shows no disruptions, outages or other problems during that time. So, I have no idea what went wrong and probably have no way to find an answer either. Please try downloading again.

It works now, but the server was throwing 404 errors back when seycyrus reported the problem here.
