Weird gaps with CC3+ and Hex maps

I'm trying to create some hex maps for an upcoming RPG game, but I've had some issues using CC3+. When I lay down my hex tiles, there are noticeable gaps between some of the tiles. Nothing major, but just the slightest of gaps. When I tried CC3, there were no gaps. The image seemed to expand just enough to fill and perfectly match the other tiles around it. I am hoping that I just need to correct some setting in CC3+.

When I open the CC3+ map in CC3, it does not have any gaps in it, so maybe it's a display issue? The gaps become more noticeable when I export the map as an image.

hmm, I can definately replicate this problem.
It does seem to be present in CC3 too though, just at a much less noticeable scale, and the blue lines seems to be blended with the green there, slightly altering the hue instead of appearing as the same color as the sea. I'll report this to ProFantasy, maybe they know what is causing this.
  • Hello. I received a response from Ralf, in case anyone else is having the same issues. Here's his reply:

this is most likely due to changes to the rendering engine in CC3+ which makes bitmaps symbol appear slightly smaller at various resolutions (you might notice that the gaps become more apparent as you zoom out). We will look into fixing the overland hex style for this. In the meantime, I would recommend to simply scale the symbols slightly via from the Symbol Manager . Go to Symbols > Symbol Manager, select the hex symbols and use Scale by 1.02 or so.

I tested this and it works. I also played around with just scaling the pieces, but that lead to some unexpected results. I have a working solution for now, but I'm looking forward to the fix (maybe with Cos3+?).
