John Roberts city symbols in CC3+?

I am trying to use the symbols from John Roberts City Maps in a CC3+ map, but the bridge won't work. It just places a single bridge section, which I can keep placing till I get the right length, but I was hoping that there was some way to get it to work like it did in CC3 where you do the start and end point and it fills in the rest.

Is there a way that I can get it to work in CC3+ or is that something that has yet to be added?

Thanks!

This is because the bridge symbol is a connecting symbol.
I don't know what you have done so far to make the symbols available in CC3+, but to properly use these symbols you must enable the 'Connecting symbol' setting in the symbol properties (From Symbol Manager), which means that the symbols must be in a proper symbol catalog (Not just opened as a folder of images in the symbol catalog window).
You can change this property for the symbol either in the current map (which means it would need to be set in each map you wish to use it), or on the symbol catalog itself. If you set it on the symbol catalog, remember that maps cache the symbol definition, so you would need to purge the symbol from the map before it will use the updated one from the symbol catalog instead of the cached version.

Unfortunately, the Jonathan Roberts Cities style (CA63 from the 2012/Vol. 6 Cartographers Annual) is not yet compatible with CC3+. Currently, the only annuals compatible with CC3+ are the 2016 Annual (vol. 10) and most of the 2015 Annual (vol. 9) — all but the June issue (CA102). ProFantasy has stated they plan to make past issues compatible but that is probably a sizeable project.

Monsen's answer may help you to make the annual work in CC3+ in the meantime.
