My new website!
Lorelei
🖼️ 46 images Mapmaker
Okay, so as i have professed here in the past, I have little to no skills in the tech department. The fact I have figured out this program, generally amazes me with every use. Anyway, I was contacted again by a fellow gamer who is putting together another D&D adventure module on The Wizards of the Coast's DMs Guild for purchase. He had commissioned the battlemap for his first module from me, and apparently he did well enough to start another and has asked me to create another map. I happily agreed. It was a pretty easy map, and took little time to put together, with the exception of finding a few images I didn't have. So, I agreed to make another map for him and it got me thinking......I have decided to try to put together a website to display some of my maps to get out there to other fellow gamers. So here is my cheesy website. Enjoy.

Just clicking on the link gave me a error message as well. :-)
The same page loads if you just use: http://loreleicartography.webstarts.com/
There are tons of good webhosting companies around. I use Bluehost - have been with them for nearly a decade.
If you're interested, I'd be happy to give you a hand.
I hope so to. I use crosswinds.net which the cpanel comes with various blog and cms ( content management system ) software that is one click install. I have a number of sites there, they have been up and running for over 15 years.
I get nothing if you sign up with them, although they do know who I am.
As others have said, always don't like seeing good resources disappear from the 'Net. Also though, as others have said, running your own site can have a high PIA factor. It might be worth your time to explore a 'blog' reseller, or a specialty site for merchants like an Etsy or a Shapeways? I don't have experience with either as a merchant, just as a customer, so can't speak to that part. Or even a DeviantArt account?
There are lots of options now for people that want to Be Connected(tm) but don't want to maintain their own site.
Very nice and a great showcase for your work!
Honestly, the cost was just too much to maintain. I have not received much traffic on the site that has led to work, so i just couldn't justify the cost of maintaining the domain. I'm looking into alternatives at the moment. Sorry to disappoint! But, most of my work can be found here by a simple search :)
Have you tried a free word press blog?
Hey Lore - sorry to necro this thread a little bit.
There are a handful of other tools and platforms instead of a website. You should try Ko-Fi - instead of maintaining a website - and see what you think about it.
Hope it helps!
