Auto redraw?

Is there a way to make it so that map redraws after an erase or other command? When I erase, all I get is a white area where I erased. I have to zoom in/out in order for things to go back to normal. See image as example.

Am I doing something wrong?

Click the redraw after you erase - its the curved double arrow button under the zoom top right. That should "redraw" and removed the white area without having to zoom in or out

Ctrl+R. Works perfectly. Cmd+R on Mac, maybe.
