Switching terrain catalogs

I started a map using the terrains found in CC3 - SS1b Fantasy, but want to use terrains from Midgard World and DeRust Overland found in the Annuals Volume 7 as well. I am lost on how to switch the catalogs... I would elaborate, but I really don't know what I"m talking about on a technical level. Hopefully someone more versed with these programs can read between the lines! :-) Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

To use fill styles from other map style, you first need to import those into your current map. The easiest way to do that is to insert a map of that style into your map. So, make a new map in the midgard world style, and save it somewhere. No, go back to your original map, and use draw -> insert file to insert that new midgard map into your current map. Place it in your map, then immediately do edit -> undo. By undoing the insertion, you will remove the map you just inserted, but the fill style definitions from that map will remain, allowing you to use the fill styles from that style in your map. Repeat for the DeRust style.
Now, to draw terrain in the style of one of the other maps, click the all drawing tools button in the lefthand toolbars, and change the style dropdown at the top of this dialog to either the midgard world or the DeRust styles to see the drawing tools from these styles. Since you imported the fill styles using the above procedure, these tools will now work.
Do note however that these tools are designed for another map style, so they may not use the same sheets as your map, and the effects on your map may not look properly with those tools, so you may need to tweak sheets and effects when doing this.

Monsen, YOU ARE THE BOMB! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had tried the insertion method before posting my question, but all I got was a bunch of red x's and blocks and now, with all thanks to you, I fully understand why I was having the compatibility issues. Thank you for giving such precise directions in layman's terms. I appreciate you more than you will ever know. :-)
