Andelarans have dreamed of the home of the slumbering gods for centuries. They imagine a land frozen in time, waiting for the gods to awaken, and once more shape and guide the worlds around them.
But the gods themselves are in peril. As they slumber, more and more forget their very existence, and they shrink, become lesser than themselves... and their realm shrinks with them. Those that dream about the gods dream about their homeland shrinking to the point of mere memory.
Can mortal heroes truly save the lives of the gods?
I'm actually taking my time with this one. I really want to use Mike Schley's style, and I'm using this map as the way to learn how to work with his style. I'm using a few techniques that I've learned from others... and perhaps I'm making a few of my own

At what level did you save it?
I looked at a lot of old maps and they had smoother coasts than our "satellite vision" of what our world looks like today.
For me at least, I do less fractalization than other mappers for my fantasy map.
If I do a modern/sci-fi map, I would take a more "satellite vision" approach.
But, that is just me.
*In addition, the less fractalization, the less problems you have with the computer.
Possibly open plains.
Free range cattle maybe?
Maybe an estate or two.
Are there going to be roads in the South West like there are in the North West?
I noticed that the larger settlements are far from the coast, is this to protect them from sea raiders?
If so, you could place watch towers where the rivers meet the coast.
Just some ramblings. ;-)
You can always tell a map works when it gets the viewer imagining stuff.
In the mean time, I finally got the roads in on that second continent, and started work on the north eastern one. ideas and suggestions still welcome!
Once I get the actual terrain down for these areas, I'm going to need some help, I'm having issues with some of the effects, and I will probably need some guidance... but until then, sit back and enjoy!
I admit that I didn't realize that mesas tend to be smaller than mountains, but I have noticed that if I set my natural features to a specific scale, then keep that scale through out, then everything sort of falls into place. For example, my natural features are all set at .68 for this scale... the mountains, trees, mesas... all of the natural features are at a .68 scale. And I've noticed that works... as long as I stay to that .68 scale, I don't end up with trees bigger than my mountains, or larger than my hills, or hills bigger than my mountains, and what not.
OMG I'm learning!!! lol
