Next Tome Frustrating Question

Okay... So I'm supposed to be copying to the clipboard, then creating in a new map. For those of you that read the tome, I'm on the Big Edit section.

Well, I understand how to copy, I under stand how to pick up what's inside the window, I e en understand how to remove something. Here's my frustration:

My eyesight is starting to fade...not much, I have stigmatisms the normally rear their nasty heads when I'm dealing with high contrast...sometimes too small things tend to blend.

So to see where I was clicking... I zoomed in on the area to.copy.

Problem came when I tried to paste what I had copied- the part I copied was huge; the area to past into was not... Any clues where I went wrong? Or how to fix it?

The scale should carry over when you do a copy, so check two things:
    - Use info -> distance to measure the size of the area you are trying to copy, as well as the area where you are trying to paste it. This will tell if you made a mistake with the scale of any of the maps.
    - Do you use shortcut keys while pasting? if so, be careful not to move your mouse while pressing ctrl+v, as moving your mouse with ctrl held down will scale the item at the cursor, which may lead to unintentional scaling when pasting.
  • No... I hadn't gotten to pasting yet. As soon as I saw my paste was to big, I hit the undo button. I was working with the edit section at the top, following the Tome. So here's a follow up question.

If that happens again, how do I set it to fit? Use the ctrl to scale it down? I also noticed that what I was pasti g was completely transparent. Is it supposed to be that way?
  • It will look transparent so you can place it. When you place it and click the left mouse button, it shows up.

Yes, just hold down ctrl and move your mouse up/down to change the scale of the section you are pasting.
