I don't mean to sound impatient or entitled. I really wanted to have something ready for my players (I DM) and I've run into a lot of crashes and now this. Nobody owes me anything and it isn't the end of the world, I'm just really disappointed in myself and, assuming this is a legitimate problem and not another reason for me to feel like a moron, this software. DD has been amazing but the overland mapping functionality hasn't.
I've started a thread in community support. I might hit up tech support but so far every problem have had (save for crashes) has been a failure to read/understand on my part. I'd rather bother a volunteer or community member with such a thing than support if that continues to be the case.
I mentioned in your other thread that, while I can't explain it myself, hopefully someone can. In the meantime, while you're trying to get things ready for your game, try this:
Open two instances of CC3+ (or CC3, whichever you're using). CC3 and CC3+ let you open more than one instance of the program.
In one instance, open the map with the landmasses you can edit (the one without any features), edit your landmasses.
SAVE the landmass map. Make sure you give it a good name, like the one you posted here ("... can edit...").
In the other instance, open the other map, for your features.
SAVE the features map. Again, very specific name.
In your Windows File Explorer, copy the editable-landmass map to ensure you have a backup.
In the features instance, hide the landmass and then copy the features to the clipboard. See the online help for details about this, but I think it'll ask you for a reference point. If so, in the command line. Type 0,0.
In the landmass map, paste from the clipboard. When asked for a reference point, type 0,0.
Close the original features map instance.
Save the hybrid map with a new name, such as same as the features map but with a number at the end, or maybe a whole new name.
Now, see if you can edit the landmasses. If not, no worries. Rinse/repeat the steps above, using the new hybrid as your features map and opening your landmass map in a new instance.
Ugly and annoying? Yes. But it should let you finish your map in time for your game. And it will probably take far less time than what you've spent already trying to get the Edit feature to work the way it's supposed to, right? Also, once you're satisfied with the coastlines, you're back to working with just once map.
I hope that helps until you can get the technical support to straighten out the issue for future revisions or future maps.
I'm not sure what the difficulty is, but as an alternate solution, you might consider, 1) "break" the coastline, eliminating the section you are unhappy with. 2) Redraw the deleted section. 3) Recombine the paths (Old leftover coastline and new section of coastline). 4) Path to Poly (making sure your current fill style is what you want).
It looks like you have changed the settings on the draw tool in the second map. Try drawing a new landmass and you will sett that it is using the current fillstyle rather than the default fillstyle.
Try changing the draw tool settings back to what they were originally by clicking on the CC3 button on the top button bar.
It is not really a good idea to change the default drawtools, but rather you should create new ones and base them off of copys of the defaults.
As I mentioned in the other thread, Shessar's comment lead me to check the Default Landmass settings and I found it had been switched to Schley's overland style somehow. Perhaps using his mountain or forest tools change the default landmass? Either way, changing it back to CC3 Overland style fixed the problem! Thank you all!

Way to go, Shessar! *doffs cap*</>
Glad you have it working now.
