Hi everyone, I wanted to show off a little something that I thought of making while reading through the Abstract Graphics mapping guide from the Cartographer's Annual May issue of 2010. This article says it is about learning to leverage cc3 for things besides maps. It says cc3 is a full-fledged vector graphics package and as the the possibilities for it's use are endless.
So I thought I would show you a little comedy picture I made for some friends of mine using cc3. First I got a photoshop brush of the person on the planet. Then I downloaded ABR viewer to change the brush into a PNG, then followed the directions to load it in to cc3. I then got a few items from Cosmographer 3, placed them on the map, and then put the new PNG symbol on the map. Next I added the text.
I'm showing everybody this because I think people that have bought cc3 and cc3+ need to know that they have actually bought a program that is much more useful and powerful than they first realize. This shows them that it is possible to load your own symbols in to cc3 and create awesome maps using them.
Anyway, enjoy

The May 2010 issue is what gave me the inspiration by telling me that I don't have to limit myself to making maps with it. So I read through these three annual tutorials and came up with this.
I got the pic of Shia off of a guy from Deviant Art that was giving them away for free but with no worries about selling them commercially or for my own use. Basically he didn't care either way. So I downloaded them, followed the instructions in the September 2010 issue to make them into PNG's, then followed the instructions from the February 2008 issue to make them into a symbol catalog. Then I pulled down Cosmographer symbols onto a space background and created this.
