Next Tome clarification question...

So I'm mapping following the Tome tutorial, and I'm on the text chapter. It's showing me how to access the shx vector fonts... But I don't have shx vector fonts. I have fnt vector fonts. I'm assuming this is a change between cc3 and cc3+? I'm also assuming I can access them the same way?

I do believe that this has been reported by Joe Slayton as a known bug in CC3+.

Uhm... Okay, but what does that mean? Do I exchange shx for fnt? Or does that mean I should skip this section because the vector fonts don't work?

Skip the section on vector fonts. I recommend using TrueType and other Windows fonts and forget about the existence of FastCAD-proprietary shx and fnt font types. They don't offer anything that standard fonts don't already offer and I think that they're ugly, as well. There is also a crash bug related to selecting some of the FastCAD-proprietary fonts.

A horrible analogy would be that standard Windows fonts (TrueType, OpenType, etc.) are a nice calligraphic pen set that you can use to do your work and the FastCAD-proprietary fonts are the old kindergarten-style crayons dipped in sand with a couple of razor blades just under the label. They hurt to use, can be dangerous, and don't give particularly good results.

Okay... That's the type of answer I was looking for...perhaps not so graphic, but it definitely gets the point across! Vector fonts not so good for program. Got it
