Help exporting FT3 world to CC3 for RPG book

I'm developing a new RPG, and I'm using Fractal Terrains 3/CC3 to create the world. I want the output to be of the type you would see in an RPG game book. The problem is that I'm having trouble exporting my world to CC3 in a way that makes the map look right. All the tutorials on this on youtube show selecting the "Europe Export" export setting, but that one is not available in my CC3. As a result, I'm not able to export it in a way that looks right, no matter what setting I choose.

Can someone give me some advice here, please?

An example image showing the sort of map that you would like to produce would be helpful.
  • Hi
Your not alone in this and it seems to be an issue for a lot of users that wish to export from FT3 to CC3, myself included. I did find it easier to export to CC3+ to be fair but it still did not work right. Their are a few posts scattered about http://forum.profantasy.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=5736 and this on cartographers Guild http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=8595 I tried it all and though I got it kind of working it wasn't perfect so I just gave up. Plus the Youtube tutorials need to be updated.

Hmmm. Odd. I've exported around 1000 FT3 planets using the Comographer template.

In FT3: File menu, Export World, Cosmographer template. Give it a name in the save popup. All done. Its exported like the map below. I've shrunk it to better fit the forums. I used the text edit in CC3 to give it a name on the map. And changed the text to color 15, white.

Something like this is what I had in mind. This one is not from my game, of course, but it shows the style.

I think I may have gotten close enough with doing a "Coastlines Only." It looks like it might have produced a map good enough to add details to. But I found the tutorials frustrating, since they don't go along with the reality of the software. When it tells you to use an Export setting that doesn't exist, you can imagine how many people would get put off by it.
