Some beginner questions
Hello everyone, this is my first post. I picked up CC3/CC3+ to make some maps for a D&D game I'm running and it's been a pretty neat experience so far. I've watched Joe Sweeney's tutorial videos twice now, and am finding CC3+ to be a pretty great map making tool now that I've gotten used to how it does things, but there are still some things that I'm getting hung up on. Sometimes it seems like no matter what I do I can't get certain objects to go in front of, or behind, other objects. For example, in some cases I'd like rivers to be in front of symbols (mountain or hill) and other times behind (bridges) but I just can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Other times, my symbols end up behind contours, especially when I add a new layer and put my contour on the new layer. The problem is I can't seem to figure out a way to order the layers, and they're always listed alphabetically. Maybe I don't quite get how layers work in CC3 yet.

Layers are just categories of things. Sheets are what dictate placement. Click on the sheets button on the left. They are drawn from top to bottom.

Sheet sea is drawn first, then land, then mountain, then river.
Also, you can "freeze" layers, which purportedly makes entities on the layer unselectible/uneditable, kind of like write-protecting the layer.
