My continental map, looking for tips

This is the continent of Odrian. It is built from the Fantasy Worlds annual style. I am looking for opinions on how to make it better basically. The spots where the six rivers meet the ocean are where all the civilization is going to take place.

  • I think this is a good start. I've just a few suggestions from my rookie's perspective:

Most of the island, particularly those off the west coast, don't look natural, more like squares and hexagons. Unless they're supposed to be that way for magical or mythic reasons, you might want to make them more irregular.

The river delta region in the far northwest, looks too large, given the scale. (The Nile Delta is only 150 miles wide.) It's not impossible, but each island of the delta looks large enough to be its own country. (Hmm...)

The mountain ranges in the northern section don't look natural to me, particularly the "parallel mustaches" and the crescent in the northeast. Getting mountain ranges right still bedevils me, so I haven't any good advice to offer for this one.

Like I said, though, this is a great beginning, and I'm anxious to see what comes next. :)
  • Yeah some of the mountain range shapes could be changed and I don't really need the lower mountain range in the northern part of the continent. I wanted a lot of river deltas because I wanted to have a large number of kingdoms on the continent. I see what you are saying though about the delta in the northwest. I am definitely going to change the islands. That tool just makes them to geometric.
