Frustration with Trace Function

I am trying to follow the tutorial pdf with the Dungeons of Schley SS4 addon. I was doing great and excited about the techniques I was learning. But then I got to page 6 and the section "Drawing a Wall Mask". The Trace tool is driving me nuts. I'm having a hard time understanding the proper procedure. Is there a video tutorial that demonstrates the use of the trace function? I basically just end up with a polygon fill when I right click.

I don't know about a video tutorial, but try the trace tutorial on page 58 in the CC3+ User Manual instead.

Thanks. That did help me get the concept of it. I also had some node issues.
