Bridge problem

I am a total newb working on my first village map. There is a river going thru the village so of course the people have requested bridges to get across the river. After I select the bridge I want from the tileset and scale it to the correct size, when I go to place it it seems to want to turn itself parallel with the river. Snap is turned off so I am not sure what is causing this.

Any suggestions?

Hi eleran2, welcome to CC3 and the ProFantasy forums!

I'm curious, what style and/or symbol set are you using, do you know? Are you using City Designer, Dungeon Designer, or just plain CC3 (or CC3+)? It sounds like it could be a "smart symbol" gone awry.

    Try this:
    1. Select the symbol (a bridge?) you want to place from the catalog.
An outline of the symbol attaches itself to your cursor.
    2. Right-click on the map.
The Symbol Parameters dialog box displays.
    3. De-select the Smart tracking checkbox and select (check) the Disable smart symbols checkbox at the bottom of the dialog.
The symbol cursor should no longer rotate when you get near the river, and smart symbols will no longer rotate, cut, or resize when they're placed.
    4. Click More.
      The dialog closes.
    5. Place the symbol normally.
Anyhow, remember to reverse the steps above to re-enable the Smart Tracking and Smart Symbols when you're done with the bridge!

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers,
