Exporting from FT3 to CC3 - lakes vanish

So, I'm trying to create a world map using Fractal Terrain 3 and then export it into Campaign Cartographer 3. I can fill all the basins into lakes, add rivers... all the stuff I wanted. But when I go to export it, I can't find any way to KEEP the lakes. Since it's water areas above sea level, the contour system loses them, and there doesn't seem to be a Sheets option for lakes.

Am I missing something obvious here, or is there something clever I need to do in order to get everything moved?

  • Add a lakes sheet.

So it should be something like this:

    Common
    Background
    land
    lakes

Land gets drawn first, then lakes.

Hide one layer at a time until you find the lakes, and then move sheet the lakes to the lake layer.

'Move sheet' command is found by right clicking 'Change Properties' on the left side, and selecting 'Move Sheet'.

When you export from FT3, in the options for the selected export type, on the detail level page, check the option to multipoly each contour level, lakes should show up just fine. Note that this creates the lakes as holes in the contours that basically lets the ocean background through (Yes, this works even for high altitude lakes), so it is not very friendly if you wish to edit the landmasses or the lake, or if you wish to have effects on the lake. In these cases, I use the same method described by JimP above.
