Cosmographer 3 - some questions

Hi,

my goal is to draw a great spaceship an then let it print. So i have some questions to the interface and some settings.

I choose the Cosmographer Deckplan Bitmap. In the next window i can type in the width and the height.

The width and the height is it pixels or inch?

In the next window in can choose a Fill style. Whatever Fillstyle i choose, it's always the Space-Background. What i am doing wrong?

The last step: When i have drawn the ship, what is the best way get a picture (png, jpg, bitmap?) in the right scale?

Thanks!
Axel

Neither, it is the real-world dimensions of your ship, in feet (or meters, if using a metric template)

Seems to be a bug with the template. Just change the fill of the background after creating the map.

Since scale isn't really embedded in image files, you need to determine the number of pixels you need. For example, if you need 20 pixels/foot, simply multiply the width and the height of the map by 20, and enter these values into the image export settings.

  • Hi,

thanks for the answer. I am still training with the programm.

Now, i have another question. When i am drawing a deck, i have different fillstyles, for example Metla, Metal Bolted, Plastic and so on.

Some of the styles/tools showing squares. Is it possible to change the height/length of squares?

    I have drawn an example.

These squares are part of the image used for the fill, so to change the size of these squares, you need to change the scaling of that particular fill. You can do this by clicking on the fill style indicator (top left), then selecting the bitmap files tab, finding the correct fill style in the dropdown, and changing the values for 'scaled'
