Cosmographer Questions

Hi all,

I have recently become acquainted with the joys of this program. I have a few questions.

1. Cosmographer provides the ability to import Traveller Sector maps from Travellermap.com. Is it possible to provide an input file for import?
2. Is there a way to import just a subsector?
3. I have figured out how to link from one map to another using a rectangular region. Is there a way to make the link a hexagonal region?

Thanks for the assistance,

Baron Ovka

    1. There is a topic that explains how to do this here. Not that this is rather technical.
    2. No, but see here
    3. No. You can only approximate this by creating multiple small rectangular regions.

Although you can't create a hexagonal region, you can ensure your rectangular region fits nicely in the hex. That will leave only two small triangular areas of the hex that are not linked. On a sector or sub-sector map, it should serve nicely.

If you have snap enabled for a hex grid, making a tight-fitting rectangular area is, er, a snap. When you draw the hyperlink rectangle, just use opposite points of the hex as your start and end points.

If you're not using a hex grid but are, instead, using drawn hexes, you can use the Endpoint modifier image to "snap" the start and end points of your hyperlink rectangle to opposite points of the hex.
