  • In getting ready to use Inkscape to give me a DXF, I'm having to take some time to go through an odd collection of hoops (in GIMP)

    1. Map had an incomplete section of the continent I'm using (off the map edge) so I've had to create a coastline and overall geography for that area.
    2. Map had a lot of incomplete interior sections. I've addressed this using a mix of cut n paste of existing hexes (finicky, but working well enough) and the paint spray to fill in 'grassland' areas.
    3. Remove all water (erase to white background) - includes close tracing of coastline and going up major rivers and inland lakes with care to clean them out.

The end result should be my continent mostly filled with hexes and colour and with a very clear black coastline which has white all around the outside (if advisable I can probably flood fill that to another shade or transparency - depends if that matter to inkscape).

Then I'll pull it into inkscape and trace the coastline path and see what it looks like when exported as a DXF and pulled into CC3.

It might yet take about a week from what I can see. I'm working on it a bit every night.
